Over the years I have found myself doing more and more ‘nature photography’ than any other type of photography. Especially in more recent years. I think that this is mostly due to the fact that the older I get the more I find myself slowing down and considering things where I used to just hurry on to the next thing without giving it much thought. In ‘landscapes’ you see the ‘big picture’ but often miss the finer details. Nature offers so many details… if you just slow down to look . Nature is so complex that it makes everything else seem insignificant in comparison. Like the saying goes….”It’s all in the details!”
Be sure to visit each of the six sub categories under Naturescapes: Birds, Insects, Animals and Reptiles, Trees, Plants and Flowers. And the two fly-outs for Wildflowers and Mushrooms. The six photos below are just a sampling from each category. Click on the photos below to make your own inspection of nature ‘up-close.’
I am reminded of a quote by Henry David Thoreau:
“Nature will bear the closest inspection; she invites us to lay our eye level with the smallest leaf, and take an insect view of its plain. She has no interstices; every part is full of life”.
